CNMI Economic Recovery Study

Building on its expertise in regional sustainability initiatives, MR&D is actively supporting the CNMI Economic Recovery Study as part of the broader Marianas Economic Recovery project. Led by the CNMI Office of Planning and Development and funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) with support from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), this initiative seeks to guide economic revitalization and resilience planning for the CNMI.

As a trusted research partner, MR&D conducts stakeholder interviews, survey implementation, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement to ensure residents’ perspectives are central to the planning process. This project focuses on community and workforce development, economic diversification, and sustainability to address challenges posed by Super Typhoon Yutu and the COVID-19 pandemic. By gathering and analyzing critical feedback, MR&D delivers insights that help shape the study for long-term recovery, growth, and improved quality of life for the region.
